Around the Times Box project
For primary school students, middle school students, high school and college students, or for concert-masterclasses, courses intended for music schools.
The proposed workshops :
WORKSHOP 1 (2 hours duration) :
Meeting, discussion and participation
First contact that allows us to position ourself in front of young people as artists with, as an opening, a 15 minutes acoustic concert. Discussion around our professional behaves and habits. Presentation of the project to the students. Then, the musicians will play différent themes from the musical cultures inherent to their instruments and will question the young people on their way to understanding music.
WORKSHOP 2 (2 hours duration) :
Expression through human beatbox and singing participation
This workshop, fun for young people, allows access to a recent technique, accessible for everybody, while being demanding and calls on our body’s knowledge. It’ll help young people to express themselves, while disinhibiting, around collective sound so, to lay the group’s sound fondation.
WORKSHOP 3 (2 hours duration) :
Collective games around singing, body, sound training
Breathing, blowing, singing : games will allow the opportunity to meet each other, and create a group sound through sound painting exercices.
Start of a choice of collaboration around a piece of the repertoire, or a collective creation.
WORKSHOP 4 (2 hours duration) :
Rehearsals around a chosen repertoire
Collective and sections rehearsals around selected pieces and/or creations : rhythm, arrangement, improvisation, nuances…
WORKSHOP 5 — with a sound engineer (2 hours duration) :
Dress rehearsal and restitution
The collective project will be performed live, preferably with students on stage.
